King Charles and Queen Camilla will be attending the morning service at Sandringham Church on Christmas Day, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

This will be Charles’s second Christmas as King and the monarch has been largely following his late mother’s traditions, albeit making a few small tweaks to this year’s festivities.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen accompanied by members of the Royal Family will attend the Morning Service on Christmas Day at Sandringham Church,” the Palace announced.

The Royal Family have been celebrating the festive period at the Sandringham Estate since 1988, a tradition which was started by the late Queen Elizabeth.

This year though will see some changes with the biggest one involving the guests who will spend time with the royals at the Estate.

Queen Camilla’s children were confirmed to be invited to Sandringham to spend Christmas with the Royal Family, with the Queen’s grandchildren also set to attend.

Camilla’s family have never been invited to spend Christmas with the royals before.

Food critic Tom Parker Bowles has two children, Lola, 16, and Freddy, 13 with his ex-wife Sara Buys, while Laura Lopes shares daughter Eliza, 15, and twins Gus and Louis, 13, with husband Harry Lopes.

Sarah Ferguson is also rumoured to be on the guestlist for Christmas at Sandringham, although it hasn’t been confirmed.

Due to the large number of guests, for the first time this year the royal Christmas lunch will be moved from the traditional dining room to the ballroom.

King Charles is set to stay in Norfolk up until New Year’s Eve. Sources said that even though the monarch usually spends New Year in Scotland, he will instead head there later in January.
