Prince Harry has been urged to distance himself from a series of bombshell claims in a new biography about the Royal Family.

It comes as talk had been bubbling on about a possible reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex and his brother Prince William. There had been reports suggesting Harry could be considering spending Christmas with his family, and would be inclined to accept an invitation from the Royals.

However, the publication of a new book, Endgame by Omid Scobie, could potentially reignite the reported rift between the two brothers. The book makes a number of claims about the Princess of Wales, Meghan Markle, and The Firm.

It reportedly claims the late Queen Elizabeth II liked Kate because she was “coachable”, unlike Princess Diana, who was seen as “strong-minded”. Scobie meanwhile suggests Meghan is seen as “the new Diana”.

Scobie also claims there is no going back for the relationship between William and Harry. He said the heir to the throne believed Harry was “brainwashed” and even kept Scobie himself away from royal engagements.

While the author says Kate hasn’t spoken to Meghan in “four years” and is said to be keen to be seen smiling for public photo opportunities. He claims her willingness to comply with the Royal Family has earnt her the cruel nickname “Katie Keen”.

An insider has now reportedly told the Daily Mail Prince Harry needs to distance himself from the book. It comes as Prince William is said to be questioning whether claims in the book came from his brother.

The frind of William said: “It is a matter of trust. The challenge should be for Prince Harry to very publicly distance himself from this.”

The Mail’s Richard Kay says a reconciliation of sorts between William and Harry would be considered the “best way to secure the future of the monarchy”. However he says he is concerned the perceived attacks on Kate could scupper that.

In a column, Kay writes: “The tragedy is that Endgame looks bound to snuff out those slim chances of royal reconciliation. Instead, 2023 looks like it will end as it began when Harry’s own book launched an angry fusilade against his family.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly distanced themselves from Scobie’s explosive book, saying they are not “affiliated” with it, though it is known that the couple did help with the publication of the author’s first book, Finding Freedom, released in 2020.
